A very enjoyable game to watch at Novos yesterday with some good rugby played by both sides in very challenging, gusty conditions with only slight protection afforded by the sprawling HMRC buildings which account for most of Longbenton, as well as blocking out any sun that tried to poke through !

We eventually went down 19-15 with the game hinging on a really good 15 minute spell by Novos during which they scored 2 counter attack tries.

If anything we maybe tried to be too ambitious at times, the two tries in the second half being cases in point perhaps;when we built phases using driving play around the breakdown we looked unbeatable with Novos running out of defenders - but C'est la Vie or C'est la Vie Bonny Lads - as they say in Longbenton.

Great effort though & a true Captains/MOM performance by J Tyers.

Great hospitality shown by Novos including a FREE BAR !!!!!

Well done to all who made the trip North

Many apologies - MoM/Man of Steel was actually J Hunter .... Jimmy had a great game too though 😁

I was running touch yesterday so was not concentrating; too concerned about not wanting to outpace the four wingers in the game and embarrassing them 😂
