First and foremost this is not a criticism of referees but I have spent the weekend wondering how a fairly contested game suffered by so many penalties being given.
Both sides seemed genuinely baffled including the lads from both sides who were sent to the bin.
I notice that Saturday's ref was from Liverpool. Is it the case that different refs societies interpret the laws in different ways?
If that is not the case who benefits from a referee exchange? I don't thin k it is the players or even the ref himself who gets the sharp edge of everybody frustration.

I was hoping that intelligent followers of rugby might have an opinion on different interpretations of the laws in other areas of the country.

If it wasn't a criticism of referees, what was it?
By the way, he wasn't the best we've had this season.
