Dogtrack - no you heard wrong. Johnathon Cole is a paramedic & he helped sew Stu's arm back on after Karlos chopped it off as he wanted to eat with it with horse radish sauce.

Quite right Peter. In fact from the beginning of the season until mid February we only took short penalties and never kicked a goal until late in that game in february at Durham University when we were one point behind with a penalty in front of the posts which John kicked to maintain unbeaten record!!!

Yes wingers threw the ball in and if you didn't hit Baggsies chest at the right speed every time your life wasn't worth living!!! By the way in the winter one played with a bar of soap not a ball!!! and 3 points only for a try, that's why Micky Weston was worth his weight in gold kicking drop goals and penalties even in thipse days from within his own half. For those who have very long term memories!!!

Originally it was half backs who threw the ball in and then raced round to collect it from the ensuing maul. Then it was the blindside winger who was eventually replaced by the hooker, mainly because he stood at the front of the line-out rendering him fairly useless.
Now we have more athletic hookers it may be time for a change again.
I could certainly see a case for Liam Bailey being more useful at the rear of a line-out,for instance. Not sure who would throw in though!

Why would a linesman throw in at a rugby game, unless a footie game is on the next pitch????
