Seems as if we kept our heads, defended strongly, and ended up with a solid if not spectacular victory, keeping us in the middle of the middle bunch. Well done and think many teams might struggle against Beverley at home the rest of the season if they keep way from injuries.
Seems as if Tyndale raiders are way above everybody in the Merit league, so comisserations Stags, but heads up for the rest of the season. 2nd, County Cup and Ptman Cup would still be a great season.
Well done Bucks, another resounding victory and the record keeps going. let's see if we can make it the full season to add to a full year!!!

A good, dogged result yesterday if not a great performance, achieved once again despite difficult circumstances.

Dave and the Sportnetwork team provide a great platform from which to showcase our club and a valuable source of information for players and supporters alike. The content is quality (apart from some people's forum posts) and the rate at which the site is updated is second to none.

What some people need to realise however, is that this information is available to everyone out there, not just our own, and by publishing our team selections and video showcasing our tries scored (and conceded), we are potentially offering a valuable source of information to opposition teams in our league.

In writing this message I am potentially bringing more attention to the matter, but I just wanted to highlight the fact that sometimes as a coaching team, we have to try and be careful with the information we 'allow' Dave to put out there so as not to give our opponents unnecessary advantage or incentive.

For instance, if we had published that yesterday's team travelling to Beverley was minus more than a full pack of what could be deemed '1st team players' (including two former captains), the Beverley pack would have been licking their lips; it is also potentially disrespectful to the players starting in the side. Likewise, if we had announced that players X,Y and Z were playing with injuries, we may as well have strapped bullseye targets to them. Why not announce that we had Fat Cam, aged 47.5, as our front row replacement at the same time?

This post is just to remind people that there is a balance to be struck here and Dave achieves it well; please don't get frustrated if all the information you want is not there on screen - this is the reason why. If you need the info, approach me or Kev, or one of the other coaches Personally (not Sid though) and we will endeavour to enlighten you.

For the record missing from the pack yesterday, injured or unavailable, were:
Carr, Norris, Coates, Dixon T, Lloyd, Rudd, Boatman J, Stockdale plus Robinson C and Garside.

Well done again to Dave and to all the players in our side yesterday and thanks to everyone who does show interest and follow the side, from near and afar; your support is much appreciated. Hope to see you all next week at the happy hour when I'm picking up my sports quiz prize.

The first sin bin for Beverley's Junior Tupai was actually for a late shot on Stu Waites with no arms

Even more impressive with that number of forwards plus it seems a couple of backs. Makes the Stags situation completely undersatandable as it must have been virtually the Bucks team!!! Shows the depth of players and talent is improving. Well done to all the coaching staff and club management!!! T.S. you make some very valid points!!

good to get a win away from home. Hopefully we can follow it up this saturday - 3 wins in a row at this stage in the season could put us in a good position approaching the half way point in the league

Any win away from home in this league is a good one. It it is very heartening to see lads coming into the side and obviously playing their hearts out. Credit to everyone who has created that spirit throughout the club.

Its fantastic that when you look at the senior teams line up 95% of them have come through the mini's & junior set up and the ones who have joined recently have joined for the right reason (not brown envolopes) as they wanted to play at a superior level of rugby & for a much classier club.

Problem is when replacing first teamers impacts on other sides like it did on the Stags on Saturday.Nobodys fault it was just unlucky it happened when we were playing the league leaders.

Got to disagree with Slob our match reeports are too bland so come on DP and El Pedro lets have more stuff like this from South Leicester who obviously didnt like getting beat by Neil Back's lot on Sat :)

'Ultimately the game was marred by a completely inept refereeing display and the crass behaviour of some of Rugby's coaching staff. They should be appalled by the intimidation of both referee and her assessor as South pressurised their expensive side in the second half only to come up just short. A little more humility in victory was needed from such a high calibre coaching and player line up. If this is how the Lions react when they are involved in a close and competitive game – admittedly something of a rarity for them this season – then there is little hope for the traditional values associated with the game of Rugby that most of us cherish.
I wonder what William Webb Ellis would have thought!'

Exactly the point I was making Chocky's Butler. John Cole should remember 3rds sides(Buck's) going through a season unbeaten except for semi's of County Cup (Gateshead mixed 1sts seconds and few of their thirds as I recall). Similar sort of experience blended with enthusiastic youth in that side too!!!

Wot's it got to do with John Cole?

It's getting a bit too complicated for me this thread. Can I just get something straight, ... John Cole has chopped off Stu Waites's arms?
